When it comes to backroom staff, Bayern Munich are like our feeder club!

Not only did we secure nutritionist Mona Nemmer last summer, but we acquired world-renowned fitness coach Andreas Kornmayer as well – much to the dismay of incoming boss Carlo Ancelotti.

But the legendary Italian is set to be upset once again, as Liverpool are close to appointing Bayern’s top doctor Andreas Schlumberger, reports Germany publication Bild.

Schlumberger worked with Jurgen Klopp at Borussia Dortmund and our manager is keen on reuniting with his former medic, despite the fact he joined the Bundesliga’s biggest club in 2015.

Liverpool currently employ Andrew Massey as club doctor, but it’s not sure if Schlumberger would replace him or join the club alongside.

Massey took over from Dr. Zaf Iqbal in 2015, the medic who became infamous due to his role in the Being Liverpool documentary.

Schlumberger is contracted until 2019, so we’d have to buy out his deal if we wanted him to join.
