Liverpool’s XI v Arsenal today picks itself

Posted by

We’ve very few doubts about how Liverpool will line up today against top four rivals Arsenal.

Jordan Henderson and Daniel Sturridge are both confirmed absentees, while Dejan Lovren is fit and ready to start.

Simon Mignolet will begin between the sticks. He can’t really be blamed for any of Leicester’s goals on Monday and without him it actually could have been worse.

Nathaniel Clyne and James Milner need to improve at left-back, while for only the 13th time this season, Joel Matip will be able to start alongside Lovren. This means Lucas will likely step out of the team.

Without Henderson, Emre Can will continue on holding midfield. He actually did pretty well against the Foxes, despite horrible recent form. This enables Gini Wijnaldum and Adam Lallana a spot either side and both will hope to replicate their performances against Spurs three weeks back.

The front three picks itself, with Coutinho and Sadio Mane flanking Roberto Firmino, who’s only scored in one game since the turn of the New Year.

Our forward line excelled before Christmas and it’s high-time we see them linking up in the manner we know they can again.
