Steven Gerrard is already being promoted at Liverpool, having joined the backroom staff at the beginning of this calendar year.
He currently has a flexible position working with various youth teams, but from 2017/18 onwards, he’ll take charge of the Under-18s full-time.
This is according to Dominic King in the Mail, among others.
He claims that Gerrard has impressed Jurgen Klopp mightily with his professionalism and work-ethic and the club see no reason why he can’t fly through the ranks.

It’s so far unsure what role Neil Critchley will play, the current Under-18 boss, but we can see Gerrard managing this group for a season before progressing to the Under-23s in 2018/19.
We’re glad Gerrard is learning the ropes at Liverpool and didn’t take the MK Dons job, which was offered to him in 2016.
This way, he can develop as a manager in his own time, and hopefully one day we’ll see him take the reigns – once Klopp’s added a few trophies to the cabinet!
