There isn’t a subject Jamie Carragher considers a ‘no go area,’ especially on Twitter!
Today, he mercilessly teased his former boss Rafa Benitez, who manages Newcastle – now part of a criminal investigation into tax fraud…
Managing Director Lee Charnley has been arrested and over 100 policemen raided the offices in Newcastle and London this morning over allegedly fraudulent practice in the transfer market.
Never one to miss an opportunity, Carra joked on Twitter that the HMRC investigation is simply Rafa’s way of getting control of transfers!
Benitez infamously rarely got his own way under Hicks and Gillett, much to his immense frustration, which was a large reason he left Liverpool in 2010.
He’s obviously got nothing to do with the malpractice and should still be celebrating getting Newcastle promoted at the first opportunity. We hope to welcome him at Anfield next term.
