Liverpool and Valencia are being credited with an interest in Santos left-back Zeca.
The 23-year-old still plies his trade in his homeland, but shot to fame in 2016 when he helped Brazil win Olympic Gold.
Spanish outlet AS claim that we’re battling Valencia for his services, with both sides in need of improvements at left-back this summer.
What’s most notable about Zeca is the fact he’s completely two-footed, so can cut inside and use his right, or overlap and cross naturally with his left. One of Liverpool’s problems in 2016/17 was James Milner’s inability to do the latter.
He’s quick and good going forward, though we’d have doubts he possesses the necessary physicality to immediately adapt to the Premier League.
We’ve also been linked to Porto’s Rafa Soares today – and it’s clear plans are being drawn up to boost the position with Alberto Moreno’s expected departure.
Ryan Sessegnon is no longer a target, while the impressive Benjamin Mendy is a very expensive alternative… Who’d you like us to sign, Reds?
Here’s the defender in action:
