Mohamed Salah’s first interview since signing for Liverpool has proven to be a welcomed reminder of just how suited he is to his new club’s attacking setup.
A five-year deal for the Egyptian was announced late on Thursday after he had spent the afternoon undergoing his medical before travelling to Melwood to finalise the move.
The winger outlined how his versatility allows him to feature in a number of attacking roles, while he also named the current Reds he is excited about lining up alongside.
“I have played on the right. Last season with Roma we played five at the back and two strikers; I was a second striker, like a No.10. Sometimes I go on the left. I can play anywhere up front,” he told LFCTV.
Turning his attention towards his new teammates, he added: “They played so well last season. Mane played a fantastic season, Coutinho, Firmino, Lallana – all of them. I don’t want to say just one name. All of them had a great season last year.”

Not only does Salah possess the pace and counterattacking expertise designed to make him a perfect match to Klopp’s style of play, but he also promises to fit in well with the interchanging that has grown to become so important to the way the Reds play.
An already explosive front-line has been bolstered by the addition of a crucially alternative option and a man capable of having the kind of emphatic impact Sadio Mane did during his first season at the club.
The signs are there to suggest Salah could be yet another inspired signing and a step closer towards Liverpool mounting a serious title challenge.
