Great news, LFC: £30m cash windfall imminent

Posted by

Liverpool are still very confident of getting the £30m price-tag we’ve put on Mamadou Sakho’s head.

The Echo state that Crystal Palace are still frontrunners for the Frenchman’s signature, despite chairman Steve Parish claiming last month that the fee could be out of their range.

However, Sakho has already agreed personal terms and Liverpool believe £30m is a very fair amount, considering it’s what Everton just spent on Michael Keane – who only had one year left on his contract.

There’s been a ‘flood of enquiries’ for Sakho’s services, but the Echo are confident Palace will cough up.

The centre-back is back at Melwood currently, but Jurgen Klopp has no plans for him at Liverpool short-term or long-term and he’s been told in no uncertain terms to find a new club.

In his place, Liverpool have plans to bring in a marquee centre-back, but have so failed in our attempts to lure Virgil van Dijk to Anfield. Whether we continue chasing the Dutchman or move onto new players remain to be seen.
