Brazilian source: Coutinho will ‘want to play & help the team’ if he stays

This is perhaps the first piece of ‘good news’ we’ve heard on Coutinho personally for some time.

He’s been silent ever since his transfer request, but has told Jurgen Klopp he doesn’t want to play for Liverpool again – according to Paul Joyce in the Times.

However, Liverpool are not going to sell and Brazilian outlet Estadao have claimed that should our no.10 stay (which is more than likely considering FSG are flatly refusing to do business with Barcelona) he’ll give his all for the team – much like Luis Suarez did in 2013/14.

The report’s been translated by our friend @BrazilStat on Twitter:

We imagine Barca will come in with a fourth bid at some point but expect it to be rebuffed in the same manner as the first three were.

Coutinho must now know that he won’t be sold and needs to get himself in the right frame of mind for Liverpool’s season – not Barcelona’s…

What are the chances we get past Hoffenheim, then draw the Catalans in the Group Stages, eh?
