Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain rejected Premier League champions Chelsea and his current club Arsenal in order to sign for Liverpool last night.

Amazingly, Chelsea had offered him £220k-week and Arsenal £180k-week – but the versatile Englishman signed for Liverpool on £120k-week instead…

That, in this day and age and with the supposed ‘lure of London’ is simply incredible – and shows exactly why we should be so excited about AOC’s transfer.

Chris Bascombe in the Telegraph released the details last night, which have been the talk of Twitter ever since.

In recent memory, Chelsea have consistently gazumped us for our targets. Mo Salah (before we captured him this summer), Diego Costa and Willian are just three examples, but under Klopp, the tide is turning.

Chelsea will no doubt be mightily embarrassed that they could not convince Oxlade-Chamberlain to join having agreed a £40m fee with the Gunners – in itself, £5m more than we’re spending on his services.
