In many ways this is unnecessary…
Mamadou Sakho is gone, having fell out with Jurgen Klopp, who decided in no uncertain terms that he’d never play for Liverpool again some time ago.
The Frenchman left permanently to join Crystal Palace on deadline day, having enjoyed a loan spell at Selhurst Park during the second half of last season.
But right now, Liverpool’s defence is a mess. We’ve no leaders and are consistently drawing matches we should win because of individual errors.
Sakho, in our eyes, is a better defender than Dejan Lovren, Ragnar Klavan and maybe even Joel Matip.
What’s more frustrating about his exit is that just before he tested positive for a substance that wasn’t even on the banned list, he was in ridiculously good form.
Below, is highlights from his final performance for Liverpool.
It’s against Everton and he looks like a world-beater – strong, technical, passionate and with the kind of superb aerial presence we’re currently missing.
What could have been…
