Liverpool receives massive boost before Spartak Moscow tie…

Quincy Promes

Spartak Moscow will tomorrow be without their best player Quincy Promes, linked heavily to Liverpool in the January 2017 transfer window.

The Dutchman was their top scorer as they won the Russian league in 2016/17, but is unavailable for Liverpool’s Champions League tie on Tuesday evening due to injury.

Spartak’s coach Massimo Carrera confirmed as much in his pre-match press-conference today.

They’re also without captain Denis Glushakov, playmaker Roman Zobnin and target-man Zé Luís.

Liverpool have Joe Gomez absent through suspension, but Trent Alexander-Arnold will come in at right-back – so it’s not too big a problem.

Adam Lallana is still injured, as is Nathaniel Clyne, but we’re otherwise at full strength.

What’s more, Sadio Mane will surely return to the starting XI, having been suspended for the Premier League win over Leicester on Saturday.

His involvement means we’ll likely bring Coutinho back into midfield and one of Jordan Henderson, Emre Can or Gini Wijnaldum will drop out.
