Barca turn attention to another Liverpool playmaker; Klopp would hate this…

We’re don’t really take anything that comes from Don Balon too seriously, in all honesty…

The Spaniards make up transfer rumours on a daily basis, so we’re not holding our breath on this one.

Their latest claim is that Barca are considering an approach for Ben Woodburn, whose contract runs out in 2019.

Somehow many LFC fans made last night about Jordan Henderson

They suggest that our Welshman is set to overtake Gareth Bale as the country’s star player and that with a Coutinho deal proving difficult, Woodburn has become a genuine target.

So where do we begin…?

In the coming weeks, the 18-year-old will put pen to a very lengthy Liverpool extension, claim the Echo, that will put this rubbish to bed. Liverpool aren’t going to accept an offer for his services and in all likelihood, Barca aren’t going to make one.

He’d cost £30m+ already (we predict) solely due to his potential and Barca haven’t got money to splash that on a player for the B Team!

The reality is that Woodburn hasn’t even made it yet. Yes, he’s done well for Wales and is our youngest ever goalscorer, but until he’s a regular in a club’s first-team, he’s still a prospect.

Until the FA Cup in January, we don’t expect to see much of him in the meantime.

Still, Klopp would be incensed if the Catalans are tapping up our teenager, following the manner in which they persistently tried to unsettle Coutinho in the summer.

Moving on!
