A stat has been circling today which shows how lethal a striker Daniel Sturridge really is…
It’s a shame he’s only a substitute for Jurgen Klopp, really.
In his last 34 starts since 2015-16, Daniel Sturridge has 22 goals and 6 assists. Injuries are his issue, his ability never in question.

On Saturday, he proved his clinical finishing ability against Huddersfield, crucially breaking the deadlock with a lovely left-footed finish when we were struggling to break the opponents down.
The Englishman did a few celebrations and eventually pulled out his iconic arm wiggle, although it looked a little reluctant!
According to Sturridge, during an interview with RedMen TV, James Milner whispered in his ear that he should do the old one – and the hesitancy was because a new one in the locker!

We just hope he gets plenty of chances to try them out this term…
He’s only got two goals to date, but that’s because he’s rarely Klopp’s first choice. The statistic we shared at the beginning of this article shows that if he was used as much as Roberto Firmino, he could still be a 20-goal a season forward.
