Liverpool fans have reacted positively to the Reds’ comfortable first-half performance away to Brighton.

Jurgen Klopp’s men started the game on the front-foot, implementing their familiar aggression and high intensity pressing from the off.

In doing so, Liverpool dominated possession throughout the opening half and had the conviction to punish the hosts on two separate occasions.

Emre Can, starting in a new-look defensive trio alongside Dejan Lovren and Georginio Wijnaldum, put the Reds ahead on the half-hour mark when he headed home Philippe Coutinho’s corner.

The latter was involved again moments later as he received a pass from Mohamed Salah on the left-hand side, before playing a perfectly-weighted low cross into the path of Roberto Firmino, who then doubled his side’s lead from close-range.
