Liverpool have an interest in Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, according to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport.
The 25-year-old has 32 caps for Croatia and according to the report, could be available for just £12m having made just seven Serie A starts this term, despite being a key player in seasons previous.
Brozovic can play as a 10, but is best deeper in a more creative role alongside midfield battlers.
We’ve always been impressed with him, but if he cannot get into Inter’s team at the moment, we’re not sure he’s the kind of player Liverpool should be targeting.
Jurgen Klopp has already secured Naby Keita for 2018/19, but Brozovic is not in the Guinean’s class and we’re not sure the German boss would consider bringing in extra bodies who are not an automatic upgrade on what we’ve got.
If Emre Can doesn’t renew, we’ll need another midfielder, of course, but we’re still holding out hope that the 24-year-old will put pen to paper.
