Liverpool are believed to have reignited their efforts to lure Brazilian forward Luan to Anfield.
The Gremio star has been dubbed a long-term target for the Reds, who supposedly launched an attempt to sign him last year.
Tenuous reports suggested a £26million bid had been accepted and that talks with representatives were underway, only for the proposed deal to swiftly fade away by the summer transfer window.
The clubs are now in discussions over a move according to Yahoo Sports’ Duncan Castles, who has also reported that Luan has a €18million buyout clause in his contract.
In contrast, Press Association reporter Carl Markham insists there is no truth behind rumours of contact over a transfer.
.@LFC categorically are NOT in talks for Gremio forward Luan. No truth whatsoever in claims suggesting otherwise.

Though Luan seems an unlikely candidate to arrive, there’s no denying the club’s need to bolster its numbers.
Regardless of Liverpool’s fine form in recent months, there’s no shame in fans being eager to see Jurgen Klopp strengthen his squad in response to Philippe Coutinho’s exit and the seemingly imminent departure of Daniel Sturridge.
The team’s regular rotation more often than not proved helpful during the festive period, making a potential failure to continue with that approach a frustrating blow heading into the remainder of the season.
