Liverpool will face Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-finals, and boss Jurgen Klopp is confident in our chances of progressing.
It’s undoubtedly the tie of the round as it’s an all-Premier League affair between two of the top teams in England, and it comes after our thrilling 4-3 win at Anfield in January.

While the reverse fixture at the Etihad Stadium didn’t go as planned, there was plenty in the last meeting to give us confidence that we can advance to the semi-finals but we’ll certainly have to be at our best across both legs both defensively and going forward.
Further, it will undoubtedly be a massive task, such is the quality that City possess coupled with Pep Guardiola’s previous experience in this competition.
Nevertheless, it’s great to hear Klopp sound so positive and ready for the challenge ahead as he was completely unfazed by the draw and is ready for what will hopefully be a memorable tie for all the right reasons.
“I don’t think they thought before the best draw they could have got is Liverpool. That’s a sign for us and how strong we can be,” he told the club’s official site.
“The good thing is they are the team we know most about. I know our away fans are fantastic, so that will be a great atmosphere as well. They are two really good games and a big challenge for both sides – but, that’s like it should be.”
The first leg will take place at Anfield on April 4, while the return fixture in Manchester will be on April 10 as both teams prepare to battle it out for a place in the semi-finals.
