A new day means time for a new playmaker to drift onto a Liverpool’s radar of potential Philippe Coutinho replacements.
The fixation on how the Reds can fare without the Brazilian has been somewhat diffused by the team’s superb form since his £142million move to Barcelona.
A concern over the failure to fill the little magician-shaped void in January has since evolved into wonder over what Jurgen Klopp’s exciting squad could do with the addition of another attacking midfielder.
The latest to fit that bill is Benfica star Talisca, who is currently impressing on loan for Turkish club Besiktas.
Liverpool are keen to steal a deal for the 24-year-old from Manchester United, according to Turkish newspaper Fanatik – make of that what you please.
Talisca has scored 16 goals in 38 appearances across all competitions this season, four of which have arrived across eight Champions League appearances.
He was recently believed to have been subject to talks over a £35million deal with Manchester United, courtesy of admittedly tenuous reports.
The only matter of certainty surrounding supposed interest is his role as an orthodox central technician – marking the type of player the club will undoubtedly look to acquire in the summer.

Klopp’s men have coped extremely well since the departure of their primary source of creativity, with the Reds’ notorious front three continuing to rack up the goals.
Sadio Mane has interestingly started to adopt slightly deeper positions at stages in matches, flexing his own invention and ability to feed the runners ahead of him.
Elsewhere, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has continued his resurgence following his move from Arsenal to supply the bursting runs from midfield designed to enhance the Reds’ swift transition from defence to attack.
In terms of new recruits, it remains to be seen who Klopp will prioritise having seemingly cooled his interest in Monaco’s £90million-rated Thomas Lemar.
Borussia Dortmund’s teenager star Christian Pulisic is another name that refuses to disappear, although discussion over his future has fizzled out of late.
Who knows? Perhaps Talisca will be targeted. Likelihood is, however, that he won’t.
