If Liverpool get £27m for Divock Origi, Michael Edwards deserves a statue, according to many Reds!
James Pearce in the Echo claims that’s the price-tag we’ve stuck on the Belgian’s head – and more interestingly – Valencia and considering paying it.
Origi has been extremely poor during pre-season and struggled on loan at Wolfsburg last season, too.
As a result, most supporters want him out of the club and do not see him as a viable option to backup Roberto Firmino.
Daniel Sturridge has excelled this summer and most want him to be used as the Brazilian’s primary bench support.
From now until the end of the transfer window, Liverpool are likely to cash in on a number of players – such as Lazar Markovic, Danny Ings, Simon Mignolet and Pedro Chirivella.
If we manage to offload all of these permanently, we could recoup well over £50m – and probably much more.
So Liverpool want a combined £47M for Danny Ings and Divock Origi. If we actually get that kind of money for those players then Mike Edwards deserves a statue outside Anfield because that's Nabil Fekir essentially paid for. #lfc
