Thankfully, it looks like Virgil van Dijk’s injury to his ribs isn’t serious.

Five seconds of Mo Salah beaming with happiness
The Dutchman came off in the second-half against Southampton today for Joe Gomez, after hurting his midriff.
He returned to the bench though and joined our subs with a smile on his face, so we don’t reckon it’s serious.
Collectively, Liverpool fans on Twitter offered our brilliant Dutchman to ‘take a rib’, so that he’s ok to play our run of games against Chelsea, Napoli and Manchester City!
We reckon van Dijk will be allowed the week to recover and not play in the EFL Cup tie against Chelsea, but will be back to face the same opposition in the Premier League.
In our opinion, he’s the best centre-back on the planet, so the quicker he’s back in the side, the better.
