Reds defender named most valuable player in the world for his position

Trent Alexander-Arnold has been named the most valuable full-back on the planet by the CIES Football Observatory at a whopping £84.2 million.

The right-back has already reached a Champions League final with the Reds and played at the World Cup as a teenager – hence why he has been priced up so highly.

CIES create a monthly report on the values of all the top players, with Joe Gomez also named as being the sixth-most valuable centre-back (at £67.4 million) after his excellent start to the season.

There’s no way either player would be sold by Jurgen Klopp but the report shows just how far both players have come under the boss’ guidance.

With Alexander-Arnold just 20 and Gomez 21, there’s still plenty of time for them to get even better.
