Sadio Mane says Liverpool are more than capable of winning the Champions League – as he told Goal.com he sees no reason why the Reds cannot go one better than last season in Europe’s top competition.
Mane said: “Of course, we are having a good run and we started the season well, but it’s still a bit too early to speak about winning a trophy.
“For us, the most important thing is to take it game by game – and why not win all of them? It won’t be easy – but we are Liverpool.
“The fans play a big part of games. They are amazing supporters. Last season, no one expected it from us [getting to the Champions League final], but we did. It’s not pressure, but motivation. Why not win it?”
We love Mane’s confidence and that he’s not shying away from having big ambitions. We are Liverpool; why not set the very highest bar?
If we do go all the way, Mane will certainly be crucial.
