Jurgen Klopp has explained that Sadio Mane, who agreed to sign a new contract yesterday, is ‘more driven than most people are aware of’ and says the fact the Senegalese has committed to staying at Anfield shows where the club is at.
The boss told LiverpoolFC.com: “I can’t think of a single club anywhere in Europe that wouldn’t want a player like Sadio available to them, so the fact he wants to remain with us says something about where we are currently.
“The players we have at this club are committed, not just to our present but our future also.
“The other thing which is lost on some who don’t know Sadio is just how ambitious and hungry he is to achieve things and be successful. He is more driven than I think many will be aware of.”
Mane has 40 goals in 89 appearances for the club so far, and there is much more to come. His determination to succeed will certainly not diminish over the peak years of his career, where he will be wearing a red shirt.
