Carra predicts where the derby will be won and lost

Jamie Carragher says Liverpool should be confident ahead of the 232nd Merseyside derby – and says the Reds’ front three could be the difference between the sides.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Carragher said: “Liverpool’s front three haven’t fired yet but they are still scoring goals and look dangerous and Yerry Mina and Michael Keane – who has had a really good start to the season – can they cope?

“I think will be the big test.”

The game is set to be a tight one, with an in-form Everton coming to Anfield looking for their first win in 19 years.

Carragher added: “Liverpool have a great record at Anfield and a great record against Everton, so they should be confident.

“I don’t think Everton will be sitting back. I think if you look at their games this season – Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal – they haven’t picked up any points yet but the performances have given a lift to supporters.

“I’m expecting a really tough game; it certainly won’t be a walkover for Liverpool.”

If both teams play at their peak, then the Reds will come out on top – let’s hope they bounce back from defeat to PSG.
