Jose Mourinho takes pathetic swipe at Reds in bid to distract from United woe

Jose Mourinho says Manchester United have no chance of competing at the top of the Premier League – because Liverpool and Manchester City have spent too much.

Yes, really.

Despite spending far more than Jurgen Klopp, and a similar amount to Pep Guardiola, Mourinho has embarrassed himself once again in his latest attempt to deflect from United’s dire performances.

According to The Mirror, he was asked when United might next win the Premier League and said: “I don’t know. It depends on our evolution, but also other’s evolution.

“If the ones above us keep going in the same direction and if their ambition and investment is continuous…”

The dig could be interpreted as a swipe at City more than anyone else – although the Mirror say in the same report he was talking about all of United’s rivals – but that simply does not stack up.

The only real difference between United, us and City is the quality of the players who have been signed.

Jurgen Klopp has been impeccable in the transfer market and has always found value for money, along with Michael Edwards; United, on the other hand, have wasted millions.

We just hope Jose doesn’t get sacked any time soon – he’s more entertaining than United’s players at the moment!
