Klopp provides positive injury update ahead of Manchester City clash

Jurgen Klopp says midfielder James Milner is back in full training ahead of the game with Manchester City on Thursday and could feature against his former side.

Milner’s importance off the pitch will be crucial in the title run-in, but he will also be needed on the pitch in the match, either from the start or off the substitutes bench.

Against a difficult opponent, with Kevin de Bruyne probably back in the side alongside Fernandinho and David Silva, Milner could prove to be very important.

He is likely to line up with Gini Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson in the centre of the pitch having recovered from a hamstring issue. He has trained normally since Tuesday.

Klopp knows his side must perform at their very best if they are to win the game, although a point would be no bad result.

The Reds can move 10 points ahead of City in the title race with a victory – which would be a massive step towards winning the Premier League.

It’s all set up to be a monumental clash at the Etihad Stadium.
