Liverpool’s U18s beat Bury 5-1 last night and progressed to the FA Youth Cup semi-finals, thanks to goals from Jake Cain, Rhys Williams, Bobby Duncan and a brace from skipper Paul Glatzel.
It was a real battering and by all accounts, a superb performance.
Interestingly, Sam Allardyce’s grandson of the same name was playing at the back for our opponents – and endured a difficult game.
Not only did his wayward back-pass end up in in our second goal, but he threw what looks to us like an elbow on Cain.
Miles away from the ball, Allardyce leaves one in on Liverpool’s youngster.
