Real Madrid linked with move for Reds man – and it’s not Mo Salah

Zinedine Zidane made a shock return to Real Madrid last night – and it has taken less than 24 hours for him to be linked with a move for a Reds forward.

El Chiringuito TV are reporting that Sadio Mane – not Mo Salah, as might be expected – is one of Zidane’s prime targets.

It has been widely reported that Zidane left Madrid last summer because president Florentino Perez did not agree that a squad overhaul was required – but has now returned now his boss agrees with him.

As well as Mane, Real are being linked with moves for Kylian Mbappe, Eden Hazard and Paul Pogba following a disappointing season first under Julen Lopetegui and then Santi Solari.

A move for Hazard seems likely since he will only have 12 months left on his contract at Chelsea come the summer, but there’s no chance the Reds let Mane go.

The Senegalese has only recently signed a new contract which ties him down until 2023, and Real simply don’t have the money to tempt Liverpool into selling him.

With 16 league goals this season, he’s having his best campaign yet – and he’s only just entering his prime years.
