Champions League draw: Liverpool face Porto in the quarter finals

It’s confirmed! Liverpool will again face Porto in the Champions League quarter finals.

The first leg will be played at Anfield in early April.

Jurgen Klopp was asked if he could write himself in the history books: “I’ve never thought about myself like that,he’s quoted as saying by BBC Sport. “People spoke about me at Dortmund but I don’t need that.

I just want to help the team be as successful as we can, I’m not searching for people to remember in 50 years. I respect the desire of the people and players and I can be part of this dream but it is not for me at the end, it’s for the people.”

The Reds’ Premier League title rivals Manchester City will take on Tottenham, Manchester United will face high flying Barcelona and Ajax are up against Juventus.

We thumped Bayern Munich in the previous round of 16 and most clubs will have been dreading the possibility of getting us in the draw.

Porto will have especially been hoping to avoid us after last season’s 5-0 destruction. Sadio Mane is a man in form at the minute and will be licking his lips at the prospect of facing Porto again!

Barcelona are chasing their first Champions League triumph since 2015 and will be difficult opposition for Manchester United.

Ajax won’t be push-overs for Juventus as the Dutch club dumped holders Real Madrid out in the previous round of 16.

Tottenham will be hoping to do better against City than they have done this season; the Londoners lost 1-0 in their only domestic meeting of the season so far.
