Emre Can signed for Juventus on a free transfer last summer, swapping Liverpool red for the Bianconeri, and has endured mixed fortunes.
Speaking with Goal (via TeamTalk), the German has complained about how tough training under Jurgen Klopp was while in England.
No. I am dead serious.
“I already complained to Jurgen Klopp about the hard training in Liverpool, but the training here at Juventus is a bit tougher,” Can said.
“We have to run even more, do more strength training. It was a big challenge for me at the beginning. But now my body has got used to it”.
It’ll be interesting to see how much that extra strength training pays off if we’re able to meet Juve in the Champions League final this year.
There were reports flying around last season that the midfielder fell out with Klopp, but Can confirmed that this wasn’t the case.
“[Klopp] was disappointed. He wanted me to stay in Liverpool, but accepted my decision. He also knew that it was not a decision against him or against Liverpool, but for a new challenge at Juventus.
“I had a wonderful and memorable time in Liverpool and will always be grateful to all the people who have supported me there. I am still in touch with Jurgen Klopp“.
Emre played 166 games for the Reds between 2014 and 2018. He improved his goal-scoring record with every passing year in Engand.
He’s managed to bag four times in Serie A this season so far – and even managed to put the ball in his own net on one occasion.
