Rafa Benitez famously won the Champions League against all the odds in 2005, with a team that included Djimi Traore and Milan Baros – among others.
But Jurgen Klopp’s Reds have qualified for the semi-finals, for the second year running, and are now rightly considered one of the tournament’s favourites instead of heavy underdogs like Rafa’s famous Istanbul heroes.
Benitez thinks his friend Klopp has the tools to win both the Champions League and the Premier League, because of the brilliance of our front-three and the intensity with which they work.
Of course, Rafa’s Newcastle will play a part in our ability to loft the domestic title aloft – considering we play them at St. James’ Park on the second last day of the season.
You can see his quotes in the tweet below:
🗣 "Liverpool are clear contenders to win both titles… Klopp is doing a great job. They are in that position because they deserve it."

We very much hope the Spaniard is right, but first, we have a trip to relegation battlers Cardiff at the weekend.
Neil Warnock will delight in ruining our charge – and we’ll equally enjoy sending the loathsome Englishman down to the Championship.
Four more Premier League wins are needed – and maybe three more in Europe, too!
