Klopp makes joke threat to Rodgers about Leicester’s trip to the Etihad

Jurgen Klopp was in top form during today’s pre-match press conference before tomorrow’s Huddersfield clash.

Naturally, not all the questions were about our opponents, considering the importance of other fixtures, notably Manchester City’s.

Next weekend, Liverpool travel to Newcastle and face former manager Rafa Benitez, while City host Leicester – whose boss is of course Brendan Rodgers – the man who was in charge of Liverpool during our last pursuit of title glory in 2013/14.

“One is still living in Liverpool and the other is my landlord… Brendan!” Klopp said, smiling at the camera in his typical style.

Asked by a journalist if he would withhold his rent until after the game, Klopp agreed that was a very good idea…

“Can I?! In Germany it is not possible, but if it is in England, please let me know!”

We just hope Leicester, Burnley and even Brighton put up more of a fight than Manchester United did at Old Trafford.

The fact is, Liverpool won’t win the title unless one of those three sides do us a massive favour. All we can ask is that they put up a proper fight. City are exceptional and there’s no shame in losing to them – but the manner in which many have just whimpered to defeats is a little frustrating.
