Klopp receives brilliant news ahead of Barcelona tie

Roberto Firmino should be available to start v Barcelona on Wednesday night, despite missing Friday’s game against Huddersfield with a slight muscle injury.

According to trusted correspondent Dave Maddock in the Mirror, Bobby will train with the rest of the first-team today – and if everything goes to plan – he’ll be in the starting XI at Camp Nou.

We didn’t miss our no.9 much last week, with Liverpool winning 5-0 in his absence, thanks to goals from Naby Keita, Sadio Mane and Mo Salah – but the test of Barcelona away will be far, far greater.

Firmino’s energy, defensive contribution and ability to make us tick in the final third will be a tremendous addition – especially considering how excellent he’s been over the past month.

Hopefully, Firmino will be hassling Sergio Busquets at the base of Barca’s midfield – while Fabinho will be doing his best to harass Lionel Messi – with the Argentine likely to take deep positions and try to make things happen from there.

What’s certain is this: everybody needs to be at their best for us to put ourselves in a decent position for the following week.
