Liverpool are reportedly interested in Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze and will rival Manchester City for the 19-year-old’s signature.
The Daily Mail claim that the Reds have set their eyes on the Nigerian who has netted ten times this season. The teenager has displayed he has an eye for assists too as he’s totted up four this season for the Yellow Submarines.
Jurgen Klopp’s men still have a chance of being crowned Premier League and European champions this season – something which would surely entice any player.
The same report states Chukwueze has a buyout clause of £54million, but his club may accept a lower amount if the deal includes performance-related bonuses.
The Reds could do a lot worse when it comes reinforcements on the flanks. The Nigerian is lightening quick and more than capable of chipping in with a goal every other game.
One problem is within the creativity of Chukwueze; the lad is averaging less than one assist per every ten games at the minute – a record which is far from impressive.
The winger is only 19-years-old and has time to improve to be fair. Like Mo Salah, the Villarreal youngster likes to cut inside onto his stronger foot and could be a useful for squad rotation.
