By claiming an utterly necessary victory against Newcastle on Saturday evening we can’t help but let our eyes be drawn to Manchester City’s crucial hosting of Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester on Monday night.
Apparently, we’re not the only ones.
Jamie Vardy will be looking to add to his impressive scoring record against the top six, but its, Rebekah Vardy, the wife of the talismanic Foxes’ striker, who seems to be stoking tensions ahead of the clash.
City fans reached out to her on Twitter after our win against Newcastle, imploring her to sabotage the forward ahead of their game in hand and claimed that no one wants the Reds to taste glory.
Mrs. Vardy disagreed and threw her lot with us!

Unfortunately, it will be her spouse that could influence where the Premier League crown falls, but Mr. Vardy and Leicester will want to finish the season strongly and finish as high as they can.
The 32-year-old striker has scored eight goals versus Arsenal, seven against Liverpool, five each against Manchester United and City, plus five against Spurs and four against Chelsea.
If City are to drop points it’s surely much more likely to be against Rodgers’ Foxes than away at now-safe Brighton on the last day of the season.
Should Leicester manage to produce an amazing upset they could complete a top-flight double over Manchester City for the first time since the 1986/87 season.
With a Boxing Day win over Pep Guardiola’s men, a former Liverpool boss, an in-form Vardy, Monday night is shaping up to be a tie laced with tension and drama for Leicester fans, City supporters, and Kopites alike.
