Predicted LFC XI v. Sevilla: Expect Klopp to rotate heavily

Predicting a starting team is a tall order – suggesting who will start in a pre-season friendly is an ever bigger minefield.

Given that the opposition is of a high standard, and there’s probably an element of revenge in the hot air of Boston, I’d imagine the Reds will go as strong as possible.

Simon Mignolet should start between the sticks, with a back four of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dejan Lovren, Joe Gomez and Adam Lewis – I think Nathaniel Clyne and Yasser Larouci will sit this one out.

Fabinho is likely to keep his place in the starting XI as the Brazilian was unfortunately rested a fair bit over the summer, and I’d put money on Gini Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson making up the trio.

I think Curtis Jones could make an appearance, but he’s played a lot of football over the last three games and could use a rest.

With Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Xherdan Shaqiri still unavailable, I think we’ll see Harry Wilson and Ryan Kent keep their places.

Divock Origi started our last game, but didn’t gel so well with his fellow forwards so I expect Rhian Brewster will be given the nod from the off.

So: Mignolet; Gomez, Lovren, Alexander-Arnold, Lewis; Fabinho, Henderson, Wijnaldum; Wilson, Kent, Brewster is my predicted starting XI for Sevilla.

As was the case against Dortmund, I expect Jurgen Klopp will swap most – if not all – of the team on the hour mark.
