Gini Wijnaldum plays the part of the hero again as the Dutch international put Liverpool ahead in New York after the Reds initially went 1-0 down very early on.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain picked up the ball in some space – thanks to some neat football by Divock Origi – before lifting it diagonally across the Sporting defence, and completely wrong-siding Tiago Ilori.
Gini received the ball inside the area, and another error, this time by the Sporting goalkeeper, meant the ball found the back of the net with relative ease.
