Liverpool superstar Virgil van Dijk is the odds-on favourite for the 2019 Ballon d’Or, as per Calciomercato, and for good reason.
The Dutchman won the Champions League with the Reds, was voted PFA Player of the Year, was the only constant member of the defence in a season which Liverpool registered the most clean sheets in the Premier League, and made it to the final of the Nations League.
He’s quite literally taken the Reds to another level. Of course, there are 11 players on the pitch, but perhaps none more important to Jurgen Klopp than van Dijk.
