Sturridge decides on next move after agreeing £3m-a-year deal

Former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has arrived in Turkey after choosing to join Trabzonspor, ESPN‘s Melissa Reddy reports.

Sturridge, who scored 67 goals in 160 appearances for the Reds, has been without a club since his deal expired at the end of last season.

According to Reddy, Sturridge has been the subject of interest from Spain, Qatar and the United States as well as Super Lig rivals Trabzonspor and Fenerbahce.

It’s thought that Trabzonspor offered the 29-year-old a contract worth almost £3million a year.

A number of the club’s supporters have taken to social media imitating the striker’s famous celebratory dance in a bid to persuade him to make the move.

The move is set to be confirmed later this week after Sturridge completes his medical and puts pen to paper.

He will initially commit for two years, with the option of a further year if he performs.

The swathes of Reds fans who wished the striker well on his departure will of course bid him the best of luck with this next move.
