Young goalkeeper Jakub Ojrzynski has been training with Liverpool’s first team, amid the crisis of Alisson’s injury and Adrian’s swollen ankle.
The 16-year old joined the Reds from Legia Warsaw in the summer, but surely wasn’t anticipating a promotion this early on in his Anfield career.
It is highly unlikely that Ojrzynski will feature for Liverpool, but it strengthens Jurgen Klopp’s options.
With Alisson out for another month, and Adrian playing through the pain against Southampton, this can’t be seen as a bad thing.
Young Caomihin Kelleher starred for the U23s against Chelsea earlier this week, but the 3-0 score-line doesn’t do the Irishman justice as he pulled off a number of brilliant saves.
It could also be suggested that Ojrzynski’s promotion to the first team, in training, is a sign that Kelleher may be drafted into the senior side with the Polish teenager taking his place with the reserves.
Andy Lonergan has been given a one-year deal with the club, but it remains to be seen if Klopp would be happy to field the former Preston North End man.
Alisson is due to be fit again by the end of next month, and I’ve a feeling the German will wrap the Brazilian up in cotton wool before and after every game.
