Liverpool are reportedly still an option for Barcelona outcast Philippe Coutinho who is spending this season on loan with Bayern Munich.
If the Bundesliga giants decide against signing the Brazilian on a permanent deal, apparently Anfield would still be an option for the midfielder.
Coutinho has seen a rise to form since arriving at the Allianz, after a miserable time in La Liga in which he was a shadow of his former self.
Now TEAMtalk report that he’s not burnt all of his brides at Liverpool, and a summer return to his former club may yet be on the horizon.
The report cites AS as a source for their story, and claim that Barcelona are looking to offload the Brazilian on a permanent basis next summer.
While it would be a disaster to see the ‘little magician’ tearing it up at another club in the Premier League, I don’t think Jurgen Klopp would throw money at a deal the deal just to stop that from happening.
He’s at Bayern now, and has options moving forward, but it seems his days at Barcelona have been cut short. Personally, I’d be up for having him back – I think it’d be great to have him back in the squad.
Honestly, in a mix of hope and realistic expectation, I think he’ll sign a permanent deal with Bayern at the end of the loan deal. He seems to be enjoying his football at the moment, and long may that continue for a man who gave us some of his best years.
