Liverpool predicted XI v. Spurs – Matip & Ox set to reclaim starting spots

Liverpool are to face off against the Champions League runners up this weekend, at Anfield in what will serve as a rematch of the big game.

Spurs will be desperate to be a thorn in Jurgen Klopp’s side, as the Reds have only dropped two points so far this season – with the Londoners being our tenth fixture.

But with the game being played at Anfield, it’s hard to imagine that Liverpool will be handed their first defeat of the season this weekend.

The Reds dispatched Genk in the Champions League this week with a thunderous 4-1 win, thanks to a very attacking side.

This weekend’s game with be nothing like that though – we’ll have more balance in midfield and a more natural back four, I’d bet.

Alisson will definitely keep his spot between the sticks, and will likely have a back-line of Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Roberson.

The extra time afforded to van Dijk’s team-mates should have allowed them enough of a chance to recover for our big test this weekend.

There’d be a shout for Oxlade-Chamberlain to be included in the starting XI this weekend, and I think Klopp will go for it with a midfield trio of Fabinho, Gini Wijnaldum and Ox.

Including Gini, over Keita, will help balance the midfield – something we’ll need to do against much more fierce opposition.

Up top – no question – will be Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.
