Liverpool and Norway have had a love affair in football that stretches back to the early 1970s, but it’s not entirely understood why by some English fans.
It’s perhaps simply down to the fact that the popularity of BBC’s Match of the Day grew around the time that the Reds were winning everything.
In fact, the word “Scouse” is said to come from Norway – it has origins from a regional dish called “labskaus” which has been shortened down over the years.
Twitter and Reddit user HUGE_HOG (you may have already heard of him) worked on a video for JOE in which we find out a bit more of this connection we have with our Norwegian brothers and sisters.
Take a look at the video below:
“It’s the biggest fan club for any team. They have 50,000 members and Norway only has 5 million people.”
