“Sangria on me after the match!” – Garcia rallies Crouch, Carra & Agger to play for LFC v. Villa in the Cup

Liverpool hero Luis Garcia has joked on social media that he is going to get the band back together for the Reds’ League Cup fixture against Aston Villa.

Because Liverpool have two games scheduled within a 24 hour period, because of their involvement in the FIFA Club World Cup.

The Spaniard got former Reds forward Peter Crouch involved, and the face of Amazon Prime Sport agreed to take place in this fictional game!

I mean – it would be funny to see these boys turn out for the team well after they’ve all retired, but it isn’t actually going to happen – just in case anyone thought it was possible!

Once Garcia secured himself a partner up front in Crouch, attention shifted to the defence and, of course, we went for a bit of steel in Carra and Agger.

The joke started as the Liverpool squad was confirmed for the FIFA Club World Cup, and Garcia put himself forward for selection in the Carabao Cup.

Some fans then joked that Steven Gerrard, Pepe Reina Steve Finnan, John Arne Riise, Javier Mascherano and Xabi Alonso, and big Pete seems to like the idea – The nostalgia is killing me!
