(Video) Origi justifies selection with opening goal v Dortmund

Jurgen Klopp took a huge risk in dropping centre-forward Daniel Sturridge, renowned by some as our best player on his day, for 20-year-old Divock Origi away at Borussia Dortmund this evening.

But the Belgian prodigy repaid his manager’s faith with a crucial away goal in the first-half, very much against the run of play, to give Liverpool a 1-0 lead at Siguna Iduna Park.

Getting on the end of a James Milner header, Origi made himself some space and shot into Roman Weidenfeller’s net with the help of a deflection.

He should have made it 2-0 on the strike of half-time but his chipped finish unluckily hit the stopper in the face when one on one.

Great stuff!
