Here’s how we rated the players following tonight’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea at Anfield.

GK) Simon Mignolet – 5/10

Can’t be blamed for the goal but ran off his line and was almost punished by Bertrand Traore in the first-half. Not much to do here on after.

DR) Nathaniel Clyne – 7/10

Saw lots of the ball and used it sensibly, if not excitingly. Had the tough task of marking an in-form Eden Hazard.

DL) Alberto Moreno – 7/10

Gave his all this evening, and won some interceptions thanks to rapid pressing. No defensive mishaps, thankfully.

DC) Dejan Lovren – 6/10

Dealt with Traore relatively well, but could have closed Hazard harder for the goal.

DC) Kolo Toure – 7/10

Missed a sitter of a header in the second-half which would have equalised the game, but defensively he was faultless – again. A surefire starter next week for the final.

MC) Emre Can – 5/10

So brilliant against Villarreal, Can struggled in a match that required less intensity. He was bypassed in the midfield and made some odd decisions.

MC) James Milner – 6/10

Was less effective as the team in general wasn’t pressing nearly as hard. Little quality with final delivery from the stand in skipper.

AMR) Adam Lallana – 6/10

The hardest working player on the pitch, Lallana toiled but his nice touches and footwork didn’t result in anything. Great defensive work but on the ball he held on to it for a frustratingly long time, much to the annoyance of the crowd.

AMC) Roberto Firmino – 5/10

Like Can, tonight wasn’t his night. His attempts at classy touches or deft passes found blue shirts. He’s got magic in his feet, but wasn’t able to conjure it this evening.

AML) Coutinho – 6/10

Our best attacking threat, Coutinho had a golden chance blocked early on, but couldn’t manipulate any real sightings in the second-half despite having lots of the ball outside Chelsea’s area.

FC) Daniel Sturridge – 5/10

Tried too hard tonight. Wasn’t given much service, but had a one-on-one opportunity with his right foot which was saved by Begovic in the second. Will have one eye over his shoulder in regards to his Europa League Final starting spot, with Divock Origi close to a return.

SUBS:

Joe Allen – 7/10 – Lively when introduced. Improved us.

Christian Benteke – 7/10 – Got his head onto a Begovic flap to steal us a point!

Sheyi Ojo – 7/10 – Missed a guilt-edged chance with his first touch of the ball following a long ball to the far post. His cross ended in Benteke’s goal though.
