Philippe Coutinho was the star of our end-of-season awards ceremony on Thursday night.

Our 23-year-old magician went home with four awards, including the prestigious ‘Player of the Season’ and ‘Goal of the Season’. He also picked up ‘Performance of the Season’ and ‘Players’ Player of the Season’ (via Echo).

It is the second consecutive season that he’s won Player of the Season – an award voted for by fans. When collecting the award, he paid tribute to his newly-born daughter:

“This year has been very special for me because my daughter was born” he said. “She gives me the strength to work hard every day”

(Perhaps he should have a new daughter every year!)

The Goal of the Season award was given for his wonderful solo effort at Old Trafford in the second leg of the last 16 of the Europa League. “Yes it was a good goal, but the most important thing is that it helped beat THEM!” he joked.

The Performance of the Season award was given for his fine display in our 4-1 win over Man City at the Etihad in late November.
