Sevilla star Yevhen Konoplyanka has potentially been ruled out of the Europa League final, giving a major boost to our chances of walking away with the trophy.
According to the Spanish club’s website, the winger suffered the blow during training. They claimed the player completed the session but he was in considerable discomfort afterwards, and they would monitor how the situation evolved over the coming days.
The Ukrainian international has scored eight goals this season.
The injuries are now starting to mount up for the Spaniards. Influential full-back Benoît Trémoulinas has also been ruled out after picking up a knock in the semi-final, as has midfielder Michael Krohn-Dehli (via Mail).

Konoplyanka famously nearly joined us in 2014 January transfer window. Despite the player passing a medical and Ian Ayre flying to Dnipro to sign the contract, we were left high and dry when their president – Ihor Kolomoyskyi – refused to honour the player’s buyout clause (via Echo).
