After a slow start to their campaign, the Brazilians are now up to second in the CONMEBOL round-robin qualifying tournament.

They picked up two wins from two in the last round of fixtures, beating Ecuador 3-0 and Colombia 2-1.

The top four sides qualify automatically for the Russia World Cup, with the fifth place side going into a cross-confederation playoff.

They are on 15 points, but only four points clear of the team in seventh, Chile.
