Spanish outlet SPORT have outdone themselves again, having claimed throughout the entire summer that a deal for Coutinho to join Barcelona was done and dusted.
It wasn’t, of course, with Liverpool flatly refusing to enter negotiations and rejecting Barca’s multiple bids.
Now, just three and a bit weeks after the transfer window shut, SPORT are going to town on the rumour again.
Barca are six from six in La Liga and won their Champions League opener… Can’t they give it a rest?!
Today, SPORT ran a full front-page special on the prospective transfer, claiming that Liverpool could sell our no.10 in JANUARY, and if not, definitely next summer, for around €200m.
This is BEYOND desperate! Catalan paper SPORT says LFC could sell Phil in Jan 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂
‘Coutinho Reactivated’ for €200m apparently 😂 pic.twitter.com/xY0XGS22Ny

There’s no new information of course, but SPORT are somehow claiming that ‘Barca still want Coutinho’ is actually relevant news.
Obviously they do, but the transfer window is closed and he’s not for sale..
So, by that very simple logic, no transfer is going to take place.
We really cannot imagine any Barca fans are delusional enough to think we’ll sell the no.10 in January, and hope they’ve learned that most of the stories about Liverpool’s playmaker emanating from Catalan media outlets are of dubious integrity.
